A more recent version of this post can be found on our new blog: An alternative to the Eureqa software
Many people on the internet are interested in an alternative to the Eureqa software, which used to be developed by a company called Nutonian and is no longer available. Such alternative exists, and it is called TuringBot!
You can download the program on this website and try it for free for 14 days, no credit card required. It is capable of solving both regression and classification problems using Symbolic Regression, and it is used by engineers, researchers and data scientists all around the world.
While the Eureqa algorithm is based on genetic programming, TuringBot takes a different approach: using simulated annealing for the optimization. We belive that our implementation of this algorithm yields better results than a genetic programming approach, which seems to overly restrict itself to simpler and less recursive formulas.
If you need some help to get started with TuringBot, we have some tutorials which you might find useful:

- Using Symbolic Regression to predict rare events
- Using R to visualize a Symbolic Regression model
If you have any questions concerning the TuringBot software, we encourage you to get in touch with us — we are very receptive! This is our e-mail address: email@example.com
